NMMHCA Graduate Student Representative Scholarship
This Graduate Student Representative scholarship provided by the New Mexico Mental Health Counseling Association (NMMHCA) is for $1000 with two $500 payouts in December and June and/or when tasks are completed. This scholarship is intended to provide financial support to the recipient, grow their leadership and advocacy experiences as they enter into their chosen profession, and provide mentorship and learning opportunities.
Applicants must:
- Reside in NM.
- Be enrolled in a mental health related graduate school program an accredited College or University (can be out of state as long as it is online and the applicant resides in NM full time).
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and maintain this during award period.
- Anticipate graduate May of the upcoming year or after (must be a student for majority of tenure).

- Fulfilling all Graduate Student Representative tasks including attending all NMMHCA board member meetings (third Thursdays of the month, 10am-11am MST)
- working with membership chair to build student membership, and
- scheduling 1 info session per semester on The Benefits of Professional Association Membership and NMMHCA (powerpoint, materials, and support will be provided) to a graduate level class (in person or virtually; can be completed with help from another board member).
